Okay, so she’s not really Kate Middleton anymore… at least not formally. Formally, she’s known as Her Royal Highness Princess William Arthur Philip Louis, Duchess of Cambridge, Countess of Strathearn, Baroness Carrickfergus, but what a mouthful!
Kate Middleton was born to Michael and Carole Middleton and has two siblings, Pippa and James. The Middleton family comes from no royal or aristocratic background and yet she managed to nab the most eligible bachelor in England, Prince William (son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana).
Her style consists of well… pretty much everything. Despite being next in line to be the Queen of England, Kate still wears jeans and regular old tshirts, among other more royal things. She’s quite a fan of the hat, which unfortunately my tiny Christmas bulb of a head won’t let me pull off, but she wears them flawlessly and her hair (which she gets professionally styled each week) looks equally as flawless beneath them. She pulled off her pregnancy fashions beautifully as well, and even exited the hospital after the birth of her son, Prince George Alexander Louis, looking like she was ready for a magazine spread, in a simple blue dotted dress that screamed “fabulous mother alert!” Her style has been so influential in both British and American cultures that it has been dubbed the “Kate Middleton effect”.
Let me just say- Kate Middleton is living the dream; well, my dream at least. A complete commoner marrying a prince? It’s a true Cinderella story.
